The Association of Mothers and Parents of Students (AMPA) of the Purísima Concepción School of La Estación-Esparragal is editing a book that will collect the stories that the students of this center have written during the last three years for the Literary Contest "My grandfather he counted. "
In this way, the publication will reflect the history and traditions of the Lumbrerense district of El Esparragal from the particular vision that children have, thanks to the teachings they have received from their grandparents.
Promote literary activity, protect intangible property, promote the rapprochement between generations and value the rural heritage in a novel and attractive way for citizens, are some of the objectives pursued by this project.
In this sense, the Councilor for Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, stressed that "will be an indispensable volume in the homes of the municipality that will allow you to discover, throughout its pages, the emblematic buildings of the area, the local cuisine, prominent figures , anecdotes, curiosities, customs and even the typical expressions of the language ".
The presentation of the book will be held next month at the Social Center of the Hermitage (El Esparragal).
As of December, any person interested in obtaining a copy may do so at the public school Purísima Concepción or at the Municipal Offices of La Estación-Esparragal.
The publication of this work is subsidized by 90% by the Association for Rural Development Campoder, with an investment of 5,097.04 euros plus VAT.
The president of the AMPA, Purificación Gázquez, explained that "the stories will have a beautiful butterfly effect: under the slogan" from a story a book comes out and a book comes out from a library ", we intend that all people who withdraw a copy have to donate the amount of three euros to improve the bibliographic collection of the Purísima Concepción school, so other children will benefit from the publication of this publication, which is, a little bit, of all the neighbors of El Esparragal ".
