The Department of Equal Opportunities has prepared an extensive program of activities to commemorate the 25th of November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Under the title 'Love me free and without fear', this initiative includes workshops, commemorative events and various activities, many of them focused on the education sector, from November 14 to 28.
On November 25 the institutional public event will take place on the occasion of this day with a solidarity march that will have as its starting point the Women's Center (10.00 hours) and that will end on the runway of the Nogalte rambla.
There the reading of the manifesto will take place, the participants will keep a minute of silence, they will make the release of balloons, and awards and chocolate will be given.
Next, at 12:00 noon, a mass will be celebrated for the victims of gender violence.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, stressed the importance of celebrating days like these because "although we know that they are not the definitive solution, it is true the need to make visible a situation that more women live than we can imagine next in our environment. "
Faced with the commitment to provide real tools for women suffering gender violence, Tunisia has announced that Puerto Lumbreras "will significantly improve its attention with the creation of a Center for Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence, known as CAVI, thanks to the General Directorate of Women and Equal Opportunities ".
It is in this way that soon the service of attention to the victims that at the moment is being lent from the Point of Specialized Attention to Victims of Violence of Gender in Puerto Lumbreras (PAE) will be increased in the number of hours of psychological attention, the incorporation of a social worker and a full-time legal adviser to provide comprehensive support to the victims in the municipality.
WORKSHOPS
The program also plans to hold different workshops in different disciplines.
This is the case of the Kundalini Yoga master class 'Awaken your inner power' on Tuesday, November 20, given by Mª José Pérez Camacho at the Women's Center at 7:00 p.m.
On November 21 risotherapy workshop with Celestina Pérez at the Women's Center at 5:00 p.m.
There will also be a master class of Hatha / Vinyasa Yoga with Cristina García Olivares in the room of the pensioner's home located in the hamlet of La Estación-El Esparragal on November 22 at 7:00 p.m.
On the other hand, the reading animation workshop aimed at children aged 5 to 22 years 'Stories for coexistence' will be held at the Municipal Library on November 22 and the Biblioteca Esparragal-La Estación on the 29th at 5:00 p.m. .
The 'Personal Defense for Women' workshop given by the world champion in Kick Boxing and Professional Boxing, Mª Carmen Romero, will be at the Multipurpose Rural Center of La Estación-El Esparragal at 11.00 am on November 24.
It will also include the participation of the Local Police force with an informative talk, and is aimed at women over 12 years of age with the authorization of their tutor.
Finally, the open class of Biodanza with Celestina Pérez Navarro will be at the Social Center of Camino Real on Tuesday, November 27 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
EDUCATION
The program of activities has paid special attention to the educational sector and the adolescent group, with several activities specifically planned for this being planned.
The first will be an awareness-raising activity in all the CEIPs of Puerto Lumbreras, which will be held at the 6th grade of Primary School and will be taught by PAE psychologist of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Jesús García (from November 14 to 16).
The students of the IES 'Rambla de Nogalte' will be one of the protagonists with activities such as the 'Contest 2018 of protest and rejection drawing against sexist violence' organized by the Association of Women Friends without Borders.
In addition, talks on 'Healthy Relationships' addressed to 4th of ESO and the students of the FP modules, as well as activities with students of the IES 'Rambla de Nogalte' to commemorate the 25th of November with a human bond, flash movie, reading of the manifesto and release of balloons.
Aimed at teachers, teachers, monitors and educators, a training session will be held with the 'Guide to action in cases of gender violence in education' taught by Carmen Castillo, CARM professional.
It will be on Wednesday, November 28, at the Women's Center at 6:00 p.m.
Castillo will also be responsible for conducting the conference 'Teach me to love', aimed especially at mothers, fathers, tutors and educators on November 28 at the Women's Center at 8:00 p.m.
