The participants act as councilors in the bench of the Municipal Corporation
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has convened a Municipal Plenary on the occasion of the celebration of Constitution Day on December 6.
The consistorial building welcomes the visit of the 6th grade Primary School children, the four public schools of the town, as well as the users of the Integral Center for People with Disabilities of Puerto Lumbreras (Ciped) and the Special Education Center Pilar Soubrier de Lorca .
During the development of the activity, the students have met in different municipal groups divided by colors and, through a spokesperson, they have issued the proposals that have been put to the vote.
At the end, a question and answer session has been opened.
The Plenaries were chaired by different political representatives, among them, the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia and Senator Nuria Guijarro.
The Consistory develops this initiative with the aim of bringing the local administration closer and listening to the requests of the young people.
In addition to participating in the Plenary, students have made a visit to the departments of the City to know their organization and operation.
At the end of the visit, each participant has been presented with a copy of the Spanish Constitution.
Mª Ángeles Tunisia stressed that "with this initiative we join the celebration of the Day of the Spanish Constitution (December 6) with the World Day of People with Disabilities (December 3). We are pleased to make this initiative for the third consecutive year, since the participants have fun at the same time they acquire new knowledge ".
Tunisia recalled that "the holding of these Plenary is a sign of our commitment to the most vulnerable people and citizen participation."
