The Socialist Party of Puerto Lumbreras denounces that the Popular Party only budgets € 5,000 for the necessary infrastructure in the municipality in the field of education.
The Socialist Party of Puerto Lumbreras denounces that, in the regional budgets, the Government of the Popular Party allocates to the municipality only 5,000 euros of the 66,727.81 € that it promised to equip the patio of the Asunción Jordán school with a metal roof.
In the press releases published in March and May 2018, both the mayor Maria Angeles Tunisia and the director of educational centers, Mª Remedios Lajara, committed to the Ministry of Education would allocate 67,000 euros for the realization of this work.
However, the item collected in the regional budgets only includes 5,000 euros, a clearly insufficient money and that confirms the null will of the Regional and Local Government of the Popular Party to carry out these actions, thus failing to fulfill its promises.
In this regard, the General Secretary of the PSOE of Puerto Lumbreras, María Rosa García requires the mayor, María Ángeles Túnez, "to clarify why the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has not been taken into account and not enough money has been foreseen in the regional budgets to endow Asunción Jordán School with shadows, as approved in the plenary session last March 2018. "
During these three years of the legislature, the PP has not carried out any action in schools in terms of shadows is concerned, despite the need in all of them to offer solutions to the high temperatures that are reached in our municipality to start and end of the course, an issue that is a great concern for parents, students and teachers.
In particular, the CEIP Asunción Jordán is the most damaged center of all, since it does not even have its own covered pavilion, unlike the rest.
In this sense, María Rosa García, states that "the abandonment suffered by the municipality and public education is intolerable, before which the mayor of the municipality should manifest forcefully."
In contrast to the poor regional and municipal management, the general secretary makes clear that "municipalities like Santomera, with a population almost identical to ours -composed by 15,000 inhabitants- in just three years and with a PSOE government, has installed of shade in all its centers, which shows that it can be managed in a more efficient way and that from the municipal budget could have been allocated budgetary items to have metal covers in all schools in our town ".
