The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has begun improvement works at the Juan Antonio López Alcaraz school in Puerto Lumbreras.
The Autonomous Community will prepare the sports courts of this educational center, which are used daily by more than 400 Primary children.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez and the Councilor for Education, Sonia López, visited the state of the works.
Tunisia stressed that "our intention is to improve infrastructure to continue promoting educational quality in the municipality."
The adequacy actions are developed on a surface of 1,474 square meters.
The repair works will include tasks of mechanical sanding, concrete repair, coating, marking, signaling and reconstruction of the lighting box.
In this way, the soft parts of the track will be eliminated to open the porosity to the concrete and achieve a correct finish to proceed subsequently to the application of a coating.
In addition, the most degraded areas will be repaired and cleaning and sanitation will be carried out.
The coating used will be adapted to the exterior sports flooring on concrete slab and a concentrated layer based on synthetic resins, highly pigmented and loaded with minerals, will be used to provide the surface with texture and color, giving the surface greater strength and softer texture.
The estimated value of this investment amounts to 30,108, 83 euros with an execution period of 20 days.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez stressed that "in recent years, the regional government has made numerous investments in the municipality to expand and improve infrastructure and respond to the demands made by the educational community.
