The Autonomous Community, through the Murciano Institute of Social Action, has renewed the collaboration agreement with the City of Puerto Lumbreras, for the provision of Day Care service to elderly people dependent on the municipality.
With this agreement, Puerto Lumbreras has resources and services to serve 41 users in the Day Center 'Agustín Tárraga Ortega', in order to enhance their autonomy and adequate conditions of coexistence in their own family and socio-community environment.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Angeles Tunisia, explained that "this is a renewal of the previous agreement that aims to meet the social needs of older people dependent on our municipality, making effective the right of citizens to enjoy basic levels of social welfare in order to improve their living conditions in their environment ".
It should be noted that the contribution made by the Community, through the Murciano Institute of Social Action, is more than 800,000 euros for the next three years.
For the year 2019, the IMAS allocates an investment of 372,323.05 euros.
Among the services provided in the Day Center are food, kitchen, personal hygiene and hygiene, washing and clothes review, cleaning, medical care, nursing service, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, technical advice, psychology, training and service transport.
Center of Day Stays for the elderly
The Centro de Estancias Diurnas "Párroco Agustín Tárraga Ortega" was built through an investment of more than 1,400,000 euros, and its facilities are distributed over two floors built on a plot of 800 square meters.
The center has qualified personnel such as nurses, psychologists, social workers or occupational therapists with the aim of meeting the needs of dependent people who stay during the day.
In addition, it incorporates an assembly hall, cafeteria, dining room, kitchen, an occupational therapy room and a gerontogimnasia room.
