The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras will request the regional government, at the next Municipal Plenary, to accelerate the procedures for the implementation of an Integral Vocational Training Center in the municipality.
Specifically, the Consistory calls for the conversion of the old Sacred Heart school into a Vocational Training Center that offers an integrated offer that qualifies for the qualified performance of the different professions and, at the same time, serves as a permanent training resource for the adult population. improve their employability conditions.
"In recent years, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has opted for the promotion of Vocational Training, which is why we have been improving and expanding, in collaboration with the Regional Government and the IES Rambla de Nogalte, the training offer", has highlighted the mayor, M ª Angeles Tunisia.
Currently, the educational offer in the municipality includes Vocational Training of Medium Degree (Administrative Management and Conduction of Sports Physical Activities in the Natural Environment);
Higher Degree (Administration and Finance, Physical Conditioning) and Basic Vocational Training (Administrative Services, Electricity and Electronics).
The City Council requested last May to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports the creation of this center and made available the facilities of the Sacred Heart school.
It should be noted that the Government, sensitive to this demand, has included a line allocated for this purpose in the Budgets of the Region of Murcia for 2019.
Tunisia explained that "the implementation of this initiative will decongest the IES Rambla de Nogalte, since all Vocational Training will be transferred to the new center".
In addition, the mayor said that "the creation of this center will accommodate a larger number of students and a variety of training cycles."
To conclude, Mª Ángeles Tunisia stressed that "our intention is to create a comprehensive center that meets the objectives of qualification, training and employability necessary to respond to the real demands of companies and the labor market in the area."
