The number of users of the heated swimming pools of the Municipal Sports Center has increased in the last year with an increase in accesses of 22.91%.
The number of accesses in 2017 was 3,531 and last December 2018, the year closed with 4,340.
"The quality of the facilities combined with the incorporation of new monitors, the increase in the number of places offered and the increase in the schedule of swimming lessons are the main reasons why the Sports Center has experienced an increase in users" he explained. the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco.
From this month of February, the heated pools incorporate a new aquatic activity to its varied offer: aqua-extrem classes.
It is a modality that improves cardiovascular and muscular resistance, which seeks maximum intensity with flotation exercises, jumps, skipping and muscular work with material.
This activity takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m.
The Department of Physical Activity and Sports offers swimming courses divided by age groups, among which is swimming for babies from 6 months to 3 years, swimming for children from 3 to 4 years, swimming for children from 5 to 7 years, swimming children from 8 to 11 years old, swimming for adolescents from 12 to 16 years old and swimming for adults (over 16 years old).
The program also offers the possibility of therapeutic swimming, indicated for the treatment of diseases related to the spine, osteoarthritis or with cardiovascular diseases and contractures.
Likewise, aqua-health, aqua-gym, aqua-gap, and synchronized swimming courses are held.
The Councilor for Sports recalled that "the Municipal Sports Center has discounts, quarterly and biweekly rates, responding to the needs posed by users, thus allowing greater savings to citizens."
This sports equipment is open from Monday to Friday in the morning and afternoon, and on Saturdays in the morning from 09.00 to 14.00.
In addition, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the installation is open to the public from 08:00 to 22:00 without interruption.
On the other hand, the first weekend of each month, the pool opens on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
