The Fundación Secretariado Gitano, in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, has organized an award ceremony this morning with the twenty beneficiaries of the training course "Basic, transversal and digital competences".
The Councilor for Employment and Training, Ángela Morillas, and the labor counselors of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano of Puerto Lumbreras, Lorena Díaz and Melina Clemente, were in charge of delivering the diplomas.
Ángela Morillas has stressed that "this type of course is a great opportunity for people in unemployment because it improves the employability of its participants."
Morillas has ensured that "the key to achieving insertion is to prioritize training".
The objective of this initiative has been to improve employment opportunities, update knowledge dedicated to the skills needed to find a job and work on basic aspects related to the way of acting, the existing resources to find a job or the necessary qualities in each kind of position.
The planning of this training course was divided into three blocks: the first, theoretical training;
the second focused on digital competences in a more practical way;
and the third block included training in equal treatment, non-discrimination and the problem of gender violence.
The mayor of Employment congratulated the students for successfully passing the training and stressed that "initiatives of this type make Puerto Lumbreras have a population trained and ready to access the world of work, which translates into an employment rate of 90% ".
Finally, it is worth noting that this activity is part of the Currelatalo Employability Improvement Program, developed by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, subsidized by 80% by the European Social Fund and 20% by the Murciano Institute of Social Action (Imas)
