The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, accompanied by her government team, met with representatives of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, including its president, Juan Francisco Gómez.

During the meeting, both parties analyzed the current situation of the municipality with the aim of boosting economic activity, boosting the productive fabric and encouraging the creation of employment.

The work meeting has served to exchange ideas and lay the foundations for new projects that will continue to boost local trade and improve the unemployment rate.

Currently, Puerto Lumbreras has an employment rate of 90%, making it one of the municipalities with the lowest unemployment rate in the Region of Murcia.

Regarding activity licenses, Puerto Lumbreras registered a total of 196 licenses in the last four years.

"These data, together with the low unemployment figures, encourage us to continue working with more enthusiasm to improve the quality of life of all Lumbrerenses", assured Tunisia.

The mayor has invited the Chamber of Commerce to participate in all those initiatives that the Consistory will launch soon in the municipality as trade fairs, campaigns to promote shopping or street markets.

"In its 120 years of activity, the Official Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras has been characterized by printing dynamism to the business life of our municipality and will continue to do so, participating actively in the relevant decisions taken in the region in interest of all its members, "explained the mayor of the town.

The purpose of the Chamber of Commerce is the representation and defense of the general interests of industry and commerce, as well as the provision of services to companies that exercise the aforementioned activities, and especially to establish business information and advisory services, collaborating in his case with the Public Administrations.
