The Department of Public Safety and the Department of Education have launched one more year the Road Safety program with the aim of transmitting good driving practices.
The Councilor for Education, Sonia Lopez, stressed that "children will be the future drivers and if from an early age they are taught values of responsibility before driving and the risks in case of not meeting the standards, it will be possible to increase the safety of all "
Through the program, Local Police agents develop or perfect the faculties and abilities of the minors on how to behave in public.
Participants also acquire knowledge about road safety, traffic regulations, traffic signs and the consequences of accidents.
In the days of road safety education, the figure of the driver is represented by children on bicycles that must respect all the rules they find in their path.
In this way, the route they must take is made up of different traffic signals such as traffic lights or pedestrian crossings, which makes it easier for schoolchildren to learn this subject.
The Councilor for Education has concluded by explaining that "it is important for children to be aware of road safety standards with the aim of preventing accidents, and to raise awareness among young people on good driving habits".
The initiative will be taught throughout the month in the four public schools of the town, in the Municipal Nursery Network and will also reach the users of the Comprehensive Center for People with Disabilities 'Ciped'.
