The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has implemented the necessary actions for the replacement of the drinking water network in various areas of the municipality.
Currently, the works are being carried out on Mariano José de Larra Street and include trenching, signaling, laying of pipes and, later, replacement of the paving.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the councilor of Public Spaces, Juan Rubén Burrueco, have supervised the state of the works this morning.
The mayor stressed that "the objective of this initiative, which will also be carried out in other streets, is the improvement of the quality and tightness of the pipes".
Tunisia has remarked that "this type of actions are essential to optimize the conditions of supply to neighbors and improve the benefits of all citizens, trying to avoid possible leakage and breakdowns."
In the next few days, the improvement works will continue on Calle Extremadura, Canary Islands and Primero de Mayo with a total amount of 34,000 euros, financed by the canon of the supply and sanitation service concession.
In total, about twenty household connections and 300 meters of 63 mm diameter pipes will be installed.
Similarly, the renewal of the valves for the sectorization in Vicente Ruiz Llamas street is also planned with an amount of 18,000 euros.
