This week they have begun the refurbishment of the site enabled for the realization of the weekly market of Fridays of Puerto Lumbreras.
The councilor of Commerce, Angela Morillas, and the councilman of Public Spaces, Juan Rubén Burrueco, have come to the area to check the status of the works.
The actions include providing drinking water and improving accessibility with the aim of revitalizing and encouraging non-sedentary sales.
For this purpose, the execution of a drinking water supply and evacuation network is envisaged in order to provide supply to the merchandise exhibition stands, being necessary for the realization of interconnections to existing networks, execution of manholes and laying of networks, including the demolition and replacement of affected services.
On the other hand, the works include the execution of two fords on sidewalks in order to improve accessibility in the area of ​​the street market, including the provision of railings and handrails in the area located next to the toilets and in the upper part of the market .
The Councilor for Commerce, Angela Morillas, stressed that "thanks to the regional government subsidy, we have been able to launch this action that will contribute to improving the conditions of the weekly market on Fridays, which many citizens go to make their purchases in the hundred posts it contains ".
Morillas added that "the benefits of these works will affect both the merchants and the citizens who make their purchases every week in the market."
The execution of the works has a deadline of three months and a budget of 25,500 euros, under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Commerce, Consumption and Administrative Simplification, under the Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and the Environment.
