On March 24, the municipality will host the XI MTB 'Routes of Puerto Lumbreras', test of the circuit XCM Region of Murcia.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, the president of the Federation of Cycling of the Region of Murcia, Sergio Martinez, and the president of the MTB Club Cabezo de la Jara, César Gázquez, presented this morning at a press conference the sports competition
The runners will make the route through one of the most emblematic places of the municipality, the natural place Cabezo de la Jara.
There will be a single long route of 55 kilometers and 1,500 meters of accumulated positive slope with departure at 09.00 from the Municipal Sports Center.
The president of the MTB Club Cabezo de la Jara, César Gázquez, has indicated that "Luandarense triathlete Mabel Gallardo stars in the poster of this new edition that is full of new features".
On the one hand, this year the cadets will run 25 of the 55 kilometers, having their goal in the ravine of Nogalte.
On the other hand, as a novelty, there will be an exit for non-competitive e-bikes, 20 minutes after the official start ".
During the course of the XI March BTT different pass control points will be established.
The test will last four and a half hours, from then on all the runners who are in the circuit will be out of the race and will not be included in the classification.
The registration period is open until March 21 on the page www.cronomur.es.
The places are limited with a maximum of 400 participants.
The registration fee that is established is 21 euros for federated and 31 euros for non-federated.
Juan Rubén Burrueco stressed that "the circuit will run through different paths, tracks and paths with beautiful images surrounded by nature in its purest state.The riders will pass through the Vilerda rambla and the privileged surroundings of Cabezo de la Jara, where they can enjoy of magnificent views. "
To conclude, the councilor has encouraged fans to the world of cycling to register for this event "which has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the year for lovers of two wheels."
This test will be held in junior, cadet, senior, master 30, master 40 and master 50 categories. The first three classifieds of each of them will be awarded with a trophy.
It should be noted that the prizes are made by users of the Center for People with Disabilities of Puerto Lumbreras (CIPED).
The event is organized by the Cabezo de la Jara MTB Club and has the collaboration of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia, Cronomur, Bikes Marín, Costa Bike, Serrano Bike Photography and Bici Locura.
