The Cabildo de Cofradías Pasionarias of Puerto Lumbreras presented last night the poster announcing Holy Week 2019, the work of Leirbag Nilleh, pseudonym of Lumbrerense artist Juan Gabriel Hellín.
It is an acrylic on canvas of 60x90, composed of different elements alluding to the charm of the processional heritage of the Semana Santa Lumbrerense.
The poster reflects the union of the three brotherhoods of Puerto Lumbreras around the Paschal Candle, symbol of the Resurrection of Christ and the culmination of Holy Week.
As the author explains, "in the poster I highlight mainly the figure of the brother in its various forms, in this case, highlight in the foreground each of the Nazarenes that make up the three processionary brotherhoods, in the center are the three main Nazarenes holding at the same time a lit candle alluding to the Paschal Candle - as a symbol of the brotherhood union in the same Christian faith ".
"In the background, after the set of brothers, I have placed the almond tree that creates with leaves and some flowers in the orange light, as a 'pareidolia', a kind of guide cross, and the symbol of the almond tree is part of our municipal shield, behind this, in the third plane, I wanted to recreate the scene of the Crucifixion on Calvary with the different steps carried by costaleros ".
"At the bottom of the landscape you can see the characteristic skyline of the town with its bell tower of the church and the buildings of San Francisco street in night lighting, there is a recognizable panorama near the promenade." At both ends I paint two of the balconies of saetas recognizable by all, in which the cantaores pray singing.They, together with the bands of cornets and drums and the Municipal Band of Music, are the ones that put the soundtrack to our processions ".
Around 200 people attended this meeting that took place in the Parochial Church and that marks the beginning of the Holy Week in Lumbrerense.
During the ceremony, the Cabildo de Cofradías appointed Isabel Pérez Sánchez 'Cofrade de honor' for her close association with the Holy Week of Puerto Lumbreras and, in particular, with the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Piety
