Puerto Lumbreras hosted yesterday the first edition of the Regional Meeting of Bands and Musical Groups on the occasion of the arrival of Holy Week.
Approximately 900 musicians from different parts of the Region of Murcia offered the audience 9 hours of music almost without interruption.
The event was attended by the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola.
From 10.30 am to 7.30 pm, 17 bands took the stage to show, through their processional marches, all the work done in the last year.
The Music Band of Puerto Lumbreras was in charge of opening the event.
The mayor of the town stressed that "the event was a success, many citizens spent throughout the day by the Municipal Sports Center to not miss detail of this authentic fair brother with groups of first level."
The meeting not only included musical performances, it also had a space reserved for goldsmith exhibitions, tailoring, instruments, as well as other articles related to Holy Week.
Finally, it should be noted that the activity was organized by the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy, in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.
To conclude, Tunisia thanked "the great work done by the Brotherhood of the Christ of the Faith in the organization of this event" and has highlighted "the great dimension that has acquired the meeting with the course of the editions since it was launched in 2003. "
The mayor stressed that "the participation of regional bands and the implementation of other complementary activities related to Holy Week have made this event become more prominent and more visitors."
