The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras hosted last night a cultural event of poetry, music and dance under the title "Canto de mujer libre", which was attended by about a hundred people.
It was a new song of hope that united all the women in a call for solidarity.
The event counted with the participation of numerous poets and artists.
Among the participating poets, Magdalena S. Blesa, Isabel Navarro, Carmen Marín, Isabel A. Miralles, Marisol Morente, Loli Ibarra, María Segura, Puri Gázquez, Ana Martínez and Carmen Martínez Mateos with interventions in prose and verse.
Attendees were also able to enjoy music and dance with the performances of the Aires Flamencos youth group, María Andreo singing and maestro Marcos Romera's guitar.
The coordinator of the act and member of the association, Carmen Martínez, explained that "with this activity we intend to make a small tribute to all the women who have fought in the past and who are still struggling and working so that all people can have the equal rights".
The event was organized by the Llamaradas de Puerto Lumbreras association and is part of the program of activities designed by the Department of Equal Opportunities for the celebration of Women's Month, in collaboration with municipal associations.
