About fifteen people have just completed the theoretical part of the training action 'Basic kitchen operations' that has been developed in the facilities of the Riscal hotel in Puerto Lumbreras.
Aimed at the unemployed group, the objective of this training was to deal with basic contents such as pre-food preparation;
preparation and presentation of simple culinary elaborations;
assistance to preparations of more complex elaborations;
execute and apply operations;
basic handling techniques and standards, as well as food preparation and preservation.
The contents have been distributed in three blocks.
The first of them addressed the provisioning, pre-processing and culinary conservation;
the second, the basic culinary preparation;
and the third is directed to professional practices.
This training initiative has a module of professional non-work practices, which will begin next week and will provide participants with the opportunity to put into practice the skills and knowledge acquired during the theoretical classes in different companies in the locality.
The course began on January 21 and has a total duration of 350 hours.
The Councilor for Employment, Angela Morillas, stressed that "have the appropriate training, and a degree that endorses it, is essential to access the labor market or even stay in it." Through this training initiative, all participants who have passed the course will have a diploma accrediting their ability to perform tasks related to basic cooking operations, which will allow them to improve their employment opportunities. "
It should be noted that the course has been organized by the Tourism Qualification Center of the Region of Murcia and the Employment and Regional Training Service (SEF), in collaboration with the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.
