The Local Police of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has joined VioGén, a comprehensive monitoring system for cases of gender violence.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Angeles Túnez, and the Government delegate, Diego Conesa, signed on Friday the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and the Lumbrerense Consistory.
It is a mechanism that allows the comprehensive monitoring of cases of gender violence, in order to prevent and avoid risks of new aggressions.
The Viogén system is activated when the Security Forces and Bodies are aware of a possible case of gender violence.
At that time, a personalized and periodic monitoring of the victim is carried out, determining the most appropriate protection measures at their level of risk.
According to this procedure, the actions that include the investigation of the facts, instruction of the report, notice to the lawyer, judicial disposition of the aggressor, as well as communication to the Judicial or Fiscal Authority of the result of the risk level of the victims (form VPR ) will be exercised by the Civil Guard.
The evolution of the risk will be carried out by the body that has been assigned the monitoring and protection of the victim.
When the members of the Local Police of Puerto Lumbreras are the experts, in the first instance of an event of gender violence, they will prepare the first steps, which will contain the exposition of facts, acts of seizure of instruments or effects used in the crime and parties The corresponding physicians, who together with the detainee if there is one, will be delivered urgently to the Civil Guard Post.
The Local Police and Civil Guard will assess and record in the VdG System of the Ministry of the Interior, the evolution of the victim's resigo, according to the criteria of police assignment and distribution of victims.
Each body will carry out the protection of the victim assigned to it, being able to request support from the other body when necessary, for which collaboration agreements and specific coordination will be reached in each case.
Both bodies will communicate, immediately and with criteria of reciprocity, any circumstance or information related to victims of gender violence, regardless of who has the assignment of them.
The mayor stressed that "with the signing of this agreement we establish the basic criteria for collaboration, which will optimize the human and material resources of the existing Security Forces in our municipality, to ensure effective compliance with judicial protection measures to victims of gender violence. "
