Nicolás Escarabajal and Mª Victoria Soler have been proclaimed champions in the men's and women's category of the V edition of the Nogalte Trail Extreme.
The route has been in a circuit of mixed terrain, predominantly tracks and trails with output from the youth hostel Cabezo de la Jara.
The test offered the participants three modalities, two of competition and one non-competitive.
Two competition distances were established, one of 24,250 km with departure at 09:00 hours;
and another one of 13,200 km, with departure at 09:30 hours.
In the same way, the organization prepared a hiking trail of 13,200 km of non-competitive character with departure at 09:30 hours.
Nicolás Escarabajal Sánchez-Fortún, from La Carrasca, and María Victoria Soler Jiménez, from the Blade Runner Calasparra, were the winners.
Beetle with a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes and 11 seconds;
and Soler with 2h.41: 08.
The male podium was completed by two riders from La Sima, José Manuel Vico Andreo and Carlos Navarro Carrillo;
and the feminine, by Ángela Molina Pardo, from Puertas de Lorca, and María Inmaculada Martínez Sánchez, from Cuellar Running.
The Nogalte Trail Extreme is an initiative promoted by the Athletics Club Nogalte-Hogar Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Activity and Sports of the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, stressed "the great success of the sporting event", and assured that "not only has it been an official mountain race supported by the regional Federation, but also an activity that has allowed to the participants to enjoy the good weather in the privileged environment of natural place of Cabezo de la Jara ".
