The Department of Employment of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has opened the registration period so that citizens who wish may join the free courses of the European project 'Eco Green', of which Puerto Lumbreras is beneficiary together with the municipality of Huércal-Overa .
This project, which stimulates the use of quality in the environmental sector and the eco-management of green spaces and natural areas for agricultural and tourist use, will allow the formation of a total of 302 people in Puerto Lumbreras and Huércal-Overa, with an insertion guaranteed employment of 10% of the participants, with 155 people benefiting from these training activities in the municipality lumbrerense.
In the next months, six training activities will be developed in Puerto Lumbreras.
The first one will be 'Precision agriculture and the internet of things: water and energy efficiency', whose start date is scheduled for the month of May.
The deadline for submitting applications for this first course will end on April 30.
The project also includes training actions of 'Eco efficiency in the horticultural sector', 'Recovery and custody of land in agricultural and tourist use', 'Organic orange cultivation', 'Sustainable landscaping in green spaces and natural areas for tourist use and urban ',' Use of drones for the eco-efficiency of soil and water '.
The mayor of the town, M ª Angeles Tunisia, has assured that "one of our priority objectives is employment and, through this project, we will ensure that unemployed people improve their chances of employment in economic sectors linked to the environment "
All the courses combine face-to-face training with online.

As explained by the mayor, "the content of the courses is innovative, since they have never taken training in these new green qualifications adapted to the real needs of the territory and sector in this area."
To conclude, Tunisia has indicated that "with these training courses citizens will be made aware of the need to incorporate technology in the agricultural sector to improve the efficiency of natural resources, while optimizing the employability of students through of specialization in a new occupation with growing demand ".
Finally, it should be noted that this grant has the support of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition (formerly Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment), the Biodiversity Foundation, the Empleaverde program and the European Social Fund, whose motto is "The European Social Fund invests in your future ", and with the collaboration of the Hon.
City Council of Huércal-Overa.
The project is a free action co-financed by the European Social Fund to obtain training and quality employment.
