Students have at their disposal a fully equipped gym at the Municipal Sports Center
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, visited this morning the students of the Higher Level Training Cycle of Physical Conditioning, which is taught in the town for the first time this course.
In particular, the IES Rambla de Nogalte is the only center in the region that offers this training activity.

The visit to the students of today has taken place in the gym facilities of the Municipal Sports Center of Puerto Lumbreras.
This sports space occupies more than 70 square meters with a variety of machinery for the practice of physical exercise .. The Consistory has acquired vertical and spinning bikes, elliptical, rowing machine, seven stations, squats cage, extensions machine, sitting femoral , press, bench press, opening and deltoids, among others.
In addition, the material has also been renewed with batches of dumbbells, mats, combos, elastic bands with different intensities, steel bars, fitness balls, foam rounds, doam ball, bank scoot, Olympic records and kettlebells.
"Both students and students of the IES Rambla de Nogalte, where Vocational Training of intermediate and higher grade is currently related to physical activity, can benefit from this public sports space, being one of the most complete and modern in the area" , pointed out Mª Ángeles Tunisia.
The gym's hours are from Monday to Wednesday from 8 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 10 pm.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays it is open uninterrupted from 8 am to 10 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.
The City Council has established monthly rates of 15 euros for two days a week and 20 euros in the case of using the facilities three days a week.
In the same way, a general bonus has been created, which includes entrance to the heated pool and the gym during the whole month for 45 euros.
And another bonus that allows the same services but only in the morning and for a slightly lower price, 33 euros.
The mayor recalled that "the Municipal Sports Center has discounts, quarterly and biweekly rates, responding to the needs posed by users, thus allowing greater savings for citizens."
In addition to the gym, the Municipal Sports Center offers users swimming lessons divided into age groups, including swimming for babies from 6 months to 3 years, swimming for children from 3 to 4 years old, swimming for children from 5 to 7 years, children's swimming from 8 to 11 years old, swimming for adolescents from 12 to 16 years old and swimming for adults (over 16 years old).
The program also offers the possibility of therapeutic swimming, aqua-health, aqua-gym, aqua-gap, swimming for pregnant women and synchronized swimming.
