The Popular Party of Puerto Lumbreras presented its electoral program last night for the upcoming municipal elections to be held on May 26.
The current popular mayor and candidate for re-election, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, stressed that "it is a document that reflects the needs and demands of Lumbrerenses." The program includes real proposals to continue improving the quality of life of all people they live in Puerto Lumbreras ".
The program has been divided into 11 blocks that include a wide range of proposals in various areas.
In terms of agriculture, livestock and water, the PP proposes greater protection to irrigated land by means of ordinances to ensure the livestock and agricultural use of the territory, as well as continue working, together with the Community of Irrigators, to achieve the arrival of water from the Negratín reservoir.
Other projects are also included, such as the remodeling of the Livestock Market offices for use by the Health Defense Associations or a specialized training plan in the primary sector.
Regarding trade and industry, one of the main measures is the creation of a parking area with about a hundred seats next to the Murcia Region avenue.
In the same way, the program contemplates the continuity in the writing of a viable General Plan and the expansion of the industrial estate.
The Popular Party is committed to the environment.
Therefore, another of the initiatives that promote is the creation of a bike and pedestrian lane, which will connect the urban center with the district of La Estación.
In addition, trails will be marked to promote the practice of hiking and mountain biking.
In this area is also planned the creation of an area enabled for caravans and motorhomes next to Medina Nogalte.
In education, highlights the construction of an IESO in the hamlet of La Estación-Esparragal to decongest the current IES Rambla de Nogalte and prevent citizens of this hamlet have to move to the city center.
Likewise, the electoral program includes the creation of a Hotel and Restaurant School.
Another of the flagship measures of the Popular Party of Puerto Lumbreras is the creation of an Integrated Vocational Training Center.
This center will have an integrated offer that will train for the qualified performance of the different professions and, at the same time, will serve as a permanent training resource for the adult population to improve their employability conditions.
The candidate for re-election has indicated that "the creation of this center will accommodate a larger number of students and a variety of training cycles.
Our intention is to create a comprehensive center that meets the objectives of qualification, training and employability necessary to respond to the real demands of companies and the labor market in the area. "
The Popular Party is aware of the importance of improving the quality of health services in the municipality and, for this reason, is committed to starting up an SUAP with the sufficient number of staff so that the Health Center is always attended.
In this area they also contemplate the creation of a Day Center for the mentally ill.
One of the main proposals in terms of social policy is a residence for the elderly.
Mª Ángeles Tunisia stressed that "regardless of their economic capacity, all people can access it."
The remodeling and expansion of the working women's park, the installation of calisthenics in the San Rafael park, creation of ecological gardens in the Casa del Cura or the placement of playgrounds in the Valdelagrana urbanization are other proposals that the PP is committed to carry finished.
As for roads, the Popular Party will launch a plan of conditioning that will involve the remodeling of the path of the cemetery, Cabezo del Trigo, Puerto Adentro, Camino Viejo and Los Valencianos, among others.
In terms of security, Mª Ángeles Tunisia stressed that "we are going to finalize the works of the security and emergency centers of Puerto Lumbreras and La Estación-Esparragal.
These infrastructures will concentrate the security and emergency services in the same space, which guarantees greater coordination and interoperability among the personnel and a better provision of services to the citizens ".
In addition, the extension of the staff of Local Police and Civil Guard will be requested.
In the cultural area, the consolidation of the festival 'Attitude Rock' in tribute to Angel Rosique, the assignment of rehearsal venues, the completion of the works 'House-Museum of Folklore', the creation of programs for the promotion of local artists or the creation of the 'Museum of the floats' are some of the most outstanding proposals.
Regarding physical activity and sports, the team led by Mª Ángeles Tunisia intends to create a new athletics track, install a skateboard track next to the La Cañada park, enable a shadow area in the stands of the Soccer Field, create a climbing wall in the municipal sports center and a soccer-beach court.
