The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of the Lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer's Disease (ALDEA), Modestina Díaz, have renewed the collaboration agreement to improve care for people with Alzheimer's in the municipality.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras collaborates with the entity in the granting of a grant of 10,200 euros.
With this amount, support activities for Alzheimer's patients will be reinforced in Lumbrerense.
Aldea is committed to launching a new action plan, which will include the organization of workshops, seminars, courses and other initiatives that help the sick and their families.
The Lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer's Disease 'Aldea' is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by relatives of Alzheimer's patients and by professionals from various fields such as psychology, physiotherapy, social work and other disciplines involved in the care of Alzheimer's patients .
The main objective of the entity is to provide comprehensive counseling to family members of Alzheimer's patients, as well as psychological assistance to them, and to improve assistance to patients in order to ensure that their quality of life is as high as possible.
To achieve these objectives, ALDEA develops information campaigns, family support programs and activities for the sick, in addition to those developed by the City Council through Social Services.
