The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the secretary of the association 'Friends of Music of Puerto Lumbreras', Juan García, signed the collaboration agreement between the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and the association for the promotion and dissemination of the musical culture

The new agreement renews the existing one and improves the budget amount that the Consistory delivered to the association so far with a total amount of 36,000 euros.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, stressed that "we have increased the amount allocated to this association by 3,000 euros to continue promoting the activity of the Municipal Music Band".

Tunisia has recognized the great work done by its members and thanked all the musicians for their involvement, work and effort in the promotion of music in Puerto Lumbreras.

For its part, the Municipal Music Band is committed to organize and direct those musical activities deemed appropriate for the promotion of a musical culture aimed at all audiences.

Among the initiatives promoted each year the association highlights parades, concerts and collaboration with the School of Music to teach classes in the town.

In addition, with this agreement, the band is committed to collaborate and act on numerous initiatives launched by the City Council.

The association 'Friends of Music of Puerto Lumbreras' is an associative entity created in 1987, which currently has more than fifty components.

Since its inception, the Municipal Music Band has held numerous concerts in the town, and has been present at the most important festive events of the municipality such as the patron saint festivities, the institutional act of July 7 or the parade floats, among many others.

The association has linked his career to that of the School of Music, in which classes of Musical Initiation, Musical Language, Metal Wind, Woodwind and Percussion are taught, and from which the knowledge of different musical instruments has been disseminated. Through the Auditions and School Concert conducted regularly by their students.
