Last May, the local police officers of Puerto Lumbreras received training, given by Clínica Puerto Lumbreras, on basic life support and the use of the semiautomatic external defibrillator (DESA).
With this action, agents have acquired knowledge and skills for the interpretation of symptoms in the case of accidents, as well as the help of citizens.
During the training day, the agents learned to use DESA equipment, which are currently installed in various public spaces of Puerto Lumbreras, which will allow them to act quickly in case of emergency and perform a first attention until the arrival of equipment specialized
The Local Police also acquired knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for infants and children, as well as to detect and act in case of acute myocardial infarction, choking, traumatism, open wounds and other similar situations.
The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras is attached to the Comprehensive Cardioprotection System, and continues to show its commitment to promoting health and to provide citizens with CPR knowledge to act in an emergency.
In addition to Local Police, members of the Civil Protection service also recently received training in this matter and acquired a new defibrillator device, donated by Clínica Puerto Lumbreras.
