The exhibition hall of the Casa de los Duendes Cultural Center in Puerto Lumbreras hosts until July 17 the exhibition 'Capturing the color' by Murcian artist Rogelio Balibrea.
'Catchment of color' is a collection of watercolors on Canson Moulin du Roy paper of 300 grams.
The artist uses watercolor trying to stain the paper without looking for a faithful reproduction of the model, sometimes looking for a slight abstraction, which provides water in its anarchic behavior, expressing it with strong colors that highlight the object.
The inauguration of the exhibition took place on June 7 and was attended by the acting Councilor for Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez.
All those people who could not attend and who want to contemplate their work may do so from Monday to Friday in the morning from 11 am to 2 pm and in the afternoon from 5 pm to 8 pm.
It should be noted that this activity is part of the 2019 Exhibition Space Plan launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the regional government, which has 59 exhibitions in which 67 artists born or residents in the Region of Murcia will show their work in 31 municipalities.
Rogelio Balibrea Valera
He was born in Murcia in 1963. From an early age, he always had an interest in painting, possibly due to the fact that he was the grandson of a Murcian painter and sculptor: Mariano Valera.
The artist has dealt with different painting styles: acrylics, oils and pastel, among others.
Currently, his interest is more focused on watercolor.
An example of dedication to this style of painting can be seen in the paintings he exhibits in Puerto Lumbreras.
"My passion for this style arises from the fact that I can appreciate the spontaneity of watercolor, the use of color, the water colors and the anarchy that water provokes in its relationship with pigment." My project tries, through watercolors, to capture the attention with the explosion of colors, trying to flow new sensations of color perception ", explained Balibrea.
