Yesterday the first edition of the 'Góñar Rock' Festival was held, organized by the Góñar Festival Commission, in collaboration with the City Councils of Puerto Lumbreras and Huércal-Overa, a district shared by both municipalities.
The event featured rock music with the participation of six leading groups in the region: Debaho Band, The Caps Rock Band, Mother Rock, Ratas Muertas, Contagious and Alambrada.
The Festival kicked off at 9:00 pm with Ratas Muertas, a band formed by a group of friends who met sporadically to play rock versions as a hobby.
After a short break, they have returned to the stage and did not want to miss this event.
Next, it was Debaho Band's turn.
The history of this group began in a well-known bar in Lorca, Mama Luna, which hosted a large number of waiters, most of whom love rock and roll, behind its bar.
Five of them thought it would be fun to meet to play and sing those songs they liked so much.
After a while, and with a good list of versions behind them, in 2006 they decided to do a concert to show what they had worked so hard for;
What they did not know is that they were starting a project that is still valid today.
The stage of "Based on real events" has lasted four long years, in which the band has acquired a lot of experience, complicity and presence in the stages.
He has also matured his sound and his concept of rock & roll, and proof of this is his latest album "Hijos del rock & rol".
At 11.30pm, the members of Roca Madre took to the stage to play versions of classic British and American rock songs by artists such as Eric Clapton or Led Zeppelin.
They also played classic songs from more recent bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This group was born in 2018 after joining Rafael and Ignacio de LaBouns with Paco and Luis, who already played rock versions together.
In just one year they put together a repertoire of classic songs to start playing live in the summer of 2019.
The awaited performance of the urban rock band Alambrada came after midnight.
After the death of his soul and leader, Ángel Rosique, and without yet taking the decision of whether the band will continue on stage or not, they wanted to be present at this festival to collaborate with the Góñar Festivities Commission and make a new recognition to the figure of Rosique.
This was the first concert of the group without Angel, after the tribute that was made at the Festival 'Attitude Rock' a year after his death.
The penultimate group was The Caps Rock Band, a recently created band from Murcia that made fresh rock and cañeras versions.
Emilio Cayuela (guitar), Miguel Cárceles (guitar), Pepe Muñoz (bass), Antonio Sánchez (drums) and Óscar Fernández (singer) performed songs and great hits from artists and international groups such as Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger, The Offspring, Muse , Foo Fighters or AC / DC.
The Caps maintains the essence of classic rock and at the same time seeks something more transgressive, introducing songs of its derivatives that attract more.
The finishing touch was Contagious, a formation originated in 2017, although three of the current members had already been acting together with other previous members of the band.
The group showed the audience its melodic metal style with a female voice.
