The Autonomous Community puts into service a new roundabout in Puerto Lumbreras that improves the road safety of the 4,930 vehicles that travel daily on the RM-D16 highway, which is the main route of communication between the urban centers of the municipality with El Esparragal Station .
This new infrastructure has an external diameter of 36 meters and inside 20 meters, and has four branches that distribute traffic to the urban center of Puerto Lumbreras;
to El Esparragal and La Estación;
to the Disinfection and Livestock Market Center;
and a rural road.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure in office, Patricio Valverde, and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Tunis, visited the new roundabout that "orders and increases the visibility of drivers and supposes an improvement in communications between citizens and, on everything, road safety ",
The work is part of the program of actions to improve road safety of the regional road network and has involved a regional investment of 232,000 euros.
