During the month of August the Women's Center, Center for Entrepreneurs, Youth Space, Department of Culture and Library of La Estación-Esparragal will remain closed.
These services will be centralized in the main building of the Town Hall where there will be public employees who will inform and assist citizens in the procedures they need to perform.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras closes during the whole month of August a total of 5 public buildings: Entrepreneurs Center, Women's Center, Young Space, Department of Culture and Library of La Estación-Esparragal.
Thus, these municipal facilities transfer their services to the main City Hall building, where there will be public employees who will inform and assist citizens in the procedures they need to perform from 08.00 to 14.00h.
In addition, the telephone 968402013 is made available to citizens who want information. For its part, the CAVI moves to Social Services.
They will not close the Ceilum building, immersed in training courses, as well as the municipal offices of La Estación.
In this regard, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that 'the measure has been taken taking into account that every year during the month of August the number of users who demand services from the City Council is reduced'.
In addition, Tunisia has stressed that we have considered it convenient to centralize a large part of the services in the main City Hall building in order to reduce current expenses.
Thus, this measure will achieve savings for municipal coffers by reducing the cost of electricity, air conditioning or cleaning, among others'.
It should be noted that this initiative is part of the Austerity Plan carried out by the Government team and that includes a detailed study of all municipal units with the objective of implementing energy saving and efficiency measures.
Finally, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras has stressed that "all public services that we provide throughout the year will be maintained, there will be none that ceases to function during the month of August."
