From July 1 to August 15, boys and girls from 4 to 14 years old play and learn in the 7th edition of the Summer Sports School.
An initiative with headquarters in the Municipal Sports Center, and to date has brought together 95 participants.
The objective of this school is to offer a different educational and recreational space to the young people of Puerto Lumbreras during the holiday period, transmitting values ​​of coexistence, companionship, integration or equality through the realization of recreational and sports games.
In it all kinds of educational activities are carried out, such as transversal games with other subjects, such as English, with the visit of a native.
In addition, a Road Education program has been carried out through the General Directorate of Traffic, raising awareness of the children regarding the rules of traffic, including circuit.
Participants have also enjoyed musical and aquatic games, such as the making of a film through the audiovisual workshop, using new technologies.
Exits also play an important role in this school.
Bicycle routes have been made through the natural environment.
They have visited the castle of Nogalte, knowing its history, and the cave of Tébar has been explored with professional cavers, learning about how the old miners worked and the different materials from which the caves are made.
On Fridays, the participants, together with fathers and mothers, have enjoyed other types of excursions, carrying out very playful activities such as visiting the swamp of Almazora Caves to perform aquatic tests, and Mojacar, practicing different scalding tests with included climbing wall or zip line.
