The district-Esparragal district mainly, in addition to other rural districts of the municipality, will improve information and signaling elements on rural roads thanks to a project run by the Association for Rural Development 'Campoder', within the Development Program Rural of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, through the granting of LEADER grants.

An action with an amount of 18,120 euros, which will correct the deficit in terms of signaling in rural districts, which is an obstacle to its formation as an emerging tourist destination.

And it is that the signaling is a necessary instrument of reception of the users, of education, identification, information about the existing tourist resources, spatial distribution, orientation, organization and regulation of the visits to the municipality, of the district and even of connection with others road networks of neighboring municipalities such as Lorca.

This project includes 15 wooden signs, 76 wooden posts with two directional arrows, and an environmental awareness poster, which will have a description and location of protected natural areas in the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, conservation advice of nature and the fight against climate change.

Also, this action will improve the endowments, equipment and services of the existing signage, with special attention to people over 65, considering that they will be provided with easy-to-read texts, in order to achieve overcoming cognitive barriers and with sensory aids.

Likewise, the project incorporates investments for the production of renewable energy in signage, for energy savings and efficiency, and aid for sensory disabled people.

"The supports will contain data such as the name of the rural road, with GPS coordinates, environmental care, nearby tourist attractions and the existence of heritage elements of historical value, among others," said María Ángeles Tunisia;
