The teacher and researcher Lumbrerense Juana María Morillas Ruiz will be in charge of proclaiming the management celebrations of Puerto Lumbreras, which will be held from October 2 to 7 in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary.
Juana María Morillas will make the proclamation on Wednesday, October 2 from 8:00 p.m. in the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church, after the traditional Mass.
After the proclamation will take place in the Plaza Juan Pablo II, next to the Church, the chupinazo to kick off the parties, the verbena of San Francisco and the performance of the Maxxim orchestra.
Born in Puerto Lumbreras on July 13, 1964, Juana María Morillas studied Pharmacy at the University of Granada, and before finishing her studies she was hired in the Department of Biochemistry as a researcher, to develop a project related to Child Nutrition, funded by the Puleva company and the University itself.
For family reasons he returned to Puerto Lumbreras, and parked his future career at the University to devote himself to his family.
But for 23 years she has continued to develop her dream within the Catholic University of Murcia, as a teacher and researcher.
It is an Extraordinary Doctorate Award and continues every day putting into practice that vocation of service towards its students and towards society, in the different research projects in which it collaborates or directs.
His tireless work, the illusion he puts into any of the subjects he investigates, has allowed him to be recognized as a valuable scientist and researcher, with different books published, dozens of scientific articles published in prestigious international journals, attendance at more than 100 conferences national and international, presenting scientific communications and in which she has been invited as a speaker, showing the fruits of her research in the area of ​​Nutrition and Health.
Together with his university work, he develops scientific dissemination in different media: press, radio, television and through face-to-face conferences.
Outside our borders, they have requested their presence in France, Argentina, China, Mexico, Brazil, where, together with scientific knowledge, they have made known their Murcian land and the benefits it has in terms of gastronomy, hospitality of its people and quality of life .
