Chaos and poor organization have characterized the beginning of the 2019-2020 course in regard to the school transport service.
The new "added problem" arises as a result of the increase in the number of students of the IES Rambla de Nogalte who require travel in school transport compared to the previous year.
Specifically, it is estimated that only 158 of the 175 students registered at the different stops have a place within the service that should be provided by the reorganization of the school transport that was communicated to the center in September 2018.
It follows from this circumstance that the proposed solution, based on the realization of two additional expeditions to carry out student movements, is a scarce and inefficient service.
It is just another patch that continues to cause numerous problems and that damages a fundamental right of students: their right of access to public and quality education.
Since we find a number of students higher than the places available by the transport companies that perform the service, these companies refuse to move to the institute students who exceed the number of seats really available, resulting in it, already daily, situations that are really unfortunate.
As we have learned, as a result of this surplus and since the beginning of the teaching activity in the center, there have been numerous complaints from the families of the students because, when the buses have been completed, children have been left abandoned to their fate in the stops, which seems to us an absolute irresponsibility, even more in the case of minors.
This circumstance has caused and is causing numerous damages, such as delays in the time of incorporation to the classes or the daily concern of parents to ensure that their children get to get on the bus and are not excluded because they have not "got "a place for them.
According to María Rosa García, general secretary of the Socialist Party of Puerto Lumbreras: "parents are outraged to see that, indeed, this problem is occurring that, in addition to generating children a state of stress for not being able to get on the bus, it also generates the parents, who cannot be calm without being sure that their child will arrive on time to the institute. This situation is clearly unacceptable and, therefore, we demand that all the appropriate procedures be carried out so that they are give an immediate solution to this problem. "
For these reasons, the Socialist Party considers that the Popular Party has been more concerned with suppressing bus lines and stops than with guaranteeing the public education of minors in the Region of Murcia and, specifically, Puerto Lumbreras.
