On an exciting night surrounded by family, friends and lumbrerenses, the university professor and researcher Juana María Morillas read this Wednesday the proclamation of the Patron Saint Festivities of Puerto Lumbreras 2019 in the Parish Church Our Lady of the Rosary, where the beginning of the Triduum in honor of the patron, with the prayer of the Holy Rosary and the Holy Mass.

The preacher of this edition highlighted the Lumbrerense character, "welcoming, hospitable, creative, entrepreneurial, with a vocation to serve others."

And he commented that it is the character that moves daily to his work at the Catholic University of Murcia, which fully satisfies him.

Morillas said he highlights the quality of life in Puerto Lumbreras, "wherever I go in and out of Spain, at conferences or in the media."

And he ended up extolling that "sharing happiness makes us happier, so there is no better way to enjoy parties than to share them with family, friends from Puerto Lumbreras and other locations visit us."

At the end of the reading of the proclamation the chupinazo took place to officially inaugurate this celebration that will take place on Wednesday 2 and until Monday, October 7 in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, patron saint of the town.

Once the proclamation was read, the Plaza Juan Pablo II, located at the door of the Church, hosted the Verbena de San Francisco.

An appointment that is consolidated year after year as a tradition among the Lumbrereans to welcome the program of festive activities, and that was entertained until the wee hours of the morning by the Maxims orchestra.

On Thursday, the inauguration of the Noon Fair will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Pedro García Rubio Avenue.

At 22:00 hours the Festival of Choirs and Dances Virgen del Rosario will be held at the Municipal Booth, and at 23:00 the concert of the group 'Duende Callejero' in the Young Tent;

Both activities with free admission.
