The Patron Festivities of Puerto Lumbreras 2019 received an average of 8000 daily visitors coming mainly from neighboring municipalities, not counting the number of residents in the town.
The festive events in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary were held from Wednesday 2 to Monday 7, local holiday, including a varied program of activities for all audiences such as free concerts, noon fair, religious events, medieval market, the traditional parade of floats or Children's Day, with attractions at a reduced price, among others.
The festivities officially began last Wednesday with the announcement by the university professor and researcher Juana María Morillas.
The concert poster has massively attracted the public, which filled the stages of the Municipal Booth and the Young Tent.
Duende Callejero did it on Thursday, 'In Vivo', Sergio Contreras, Indara and Manuel Delgado on Friday, Rocío Ojuelos, Sinsinati and Space Elephant on Saturday, Barón Rojo and 'La Leñera' (tribute to Leño) on Sunday and the concert of local groups and the tribute to Rocío Dúrcal on Monday.
Hundreds of Lumbrereans turned on Saturday another year with the traditional Parade of Floats, and on Sunday with the Floral Offering to the Patroness and the Procession in honor of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary.
Monday was a special day with 'Children's Day', with activities specially designed for them.
And coinciding with the feast day of the Patron Saint, the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Mr. José Manuel Lorca Planes, officiated yesterday a solemn mass in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary, which filled the Parish Church.
The security and emergency device, including the staff of the Emergency Service-Civil Protection, Local Police, Civil Guard, health services, private security and firefighters, was coordinated effectively and without significant incidents, except for some health assistance.
In addition, Local Police intensified surveillance at the fairgrounds and at the noon fair.
