Two brothers have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of Puerto Lumbreras, has developed the 'Retired' operation, framed in services aimed at preventing and prosecuting drug trafficking, which has resulted in the arrest of two people and the dismantling of a marijuana plantation installed in homes in the municipality of Lumbrerense.
The proceedings began at the beginning of the month, when the Local Police of Puerto Lumbreras informed the Civil Guard of the possible existence of a point of sale of drugs installed in homes in Puerto Lumbreras, facts that had generated some social alarm in the population.
In order to verify the facts and, where appropriate, clarify them, the Civil Guard initiated the corresponding investigation.
The first steps of this allowed to verify the existence of three houses in the town that could house a marijuana plantation.
The surveillance device established on the real estate allowed obtaining evidence on the alleged criminal activity investigated and the identification of two persons, brothers and residents in the real estate object of the investigation.
The suspects allegedly used the patio shared by their homes for the construction of a greenhouse, where they had the planting of marijuana, so, once the necessary indications were obtained and prior judicial authorization, the Civil Guard made the entrance and Housing registration.
During the performance the agents seized a large amount of marijuana arranged in vacuum-packed bags for distribution, another important amount in the drying phase and more than a dozen large plants in a flowering state.
White weapons and 9mm pistol ammunition were also found.
In the thorough search of the houses, the agents found a recess in the lower part of the main facade of one of the houses, where a dryer for the narcotic substance had been installed once collected.
It was an area of ​​difficult access and that went completely unnoticed.
The records culminated in the arrest of the two suspects as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons or ammunition.
The Spanish detainees, 62 and 54 years of age and neighbors of Puerto Lumbreras, the apprehended drug, the seized effects and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
