The podium of champions of the Spanish Cup was held as it was the last scoring event
Puerto Lumbreras again became the national venue for adapted cycling on the morning of this Sunday, with the celebration of the last scoring event of the Spanish Cup and the VIII International Trophy "City of Puerto Lumbreras".
An event organized by the Peña Ciclista Ginés García of Puerto Lumbreras together with the Pro Bike Mazarrón cycling club, the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia (FCRM), and the Department of Physical Activity and Sports of the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
The ribbon cutting prior to departure at Avenida Región Murciana, at 10:00 a.m., was attended by Mª Ángeles Tunisia, mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Francisco Javier Sánchez, general director of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region from Murcia, Sergio Martínez, president of the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia, and Joaquín López, president of the Adapted Cycling Committee of the Region of Murcia.
The test was carried out on a flat circuit of about 5 kilometers, to which the participants took different turns, with a distance of between 30 and 35 kilometers according to the category.
For Puerto Lumbreras it was the VIII International Adapted Cycling Trophy, an integrated test in the Spanish Cup for the categories of tricycles, hand-bicycles, bicycles and tandem, both male and female, in all its categories and modalities, with the last one being Lumbrerense proof of the 2019 calendar, which at the end of the event took place the podium of champions of this competition.
The test had such prominent names in this sport as Alfonso Carrillo, Paralympic champion or Ricardo Pen, world champion, among others.
In this way, the municipality of Valencia reiterates its commitment to this sport modality, since it has been betting with the Peña Ciclista Ginés García for a cycle for a decade since in 2009 they organized the first championship of Spain integrated into the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation.
