The Puerto Lumbreras City Council will turn on Christmas lighting on Saturday, November 30, with the installation of more than 8 million LED lights.
As a novelty, this year the number of areas where lighting is installed is expanded, in Avenida Astudillo, Avenida Juan Carlos I, Avenida Región Murciana and Avenida Pedro García Rubio.
As in previous Christmas, a special lighting of the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary has been carried out.
The objective is to enhance and improve the image and Christmas atmosphere of the town during these dates, encouraging citizens to go out, while encouraging purchases in local shops, characterized by "personal" and "close" treatment .
For the holidays this year, all the low-energy lighting is maintained with LED technology that significantly reduces electricity consumption, with the consequent economic savings, and CO2 emissions, and therefore helps to combat climate change.
"The lighting helps to create a good atmosphere, encourages citizens to go outside, allowing entrepreneurs to boost sales during the last days of the year. The Christmas campaign is one of the most important and from the City Council we get available to merchants and business associations to make it a success, "said the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras;
María Ángeles Tunisia.
