The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Tunisia, received yesterday in Murcia from the Presidency and Finance Councilors, Javier Celdrán, and Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, Beatriz Ballesteros, the award for equality in the Administration for the Project of implementation of teleworking in the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.
A recognition of a pilot project for municipal employees, within the V Awards for Innovation and Good Practices and the Equality Award in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras is a pioneer and an example in relation to the possibilities and advantages of teleworking and how to take advantage of them for the rest of Spanish organizations and companies, being at the forefront of local administration.
This system, among other benefits for workers, has the reconciliation of personal and work life, less stress, greater flexibility of schedules, lower costs, modernization of the Administration, greater productivity, reduction of absenteeism, improvement of objectives, increase of motivation and respect for the environment.
