The Municipal Council of Economic, Business and Commercial Development will meet next Thursday, January 30 at 4:00 p.m. at CEILUM (together with municipal summer swimming pools), with an agenda that includes the constitution of this body, designation of positions and planning of a program of actions, in order to work based on the needs of the mentioned sectors.
The Council aims to establish a regulatory channel through which the demands made by sectors subject to this municipal council are channeled;
enhance the competitiveness of the local economic and commercial sectors through innovative actions;
as well as analyze the economic, business and commercial fabric of the city.
Among the functions assigned to the Council is fostering dialogue between business organizations and consumer organizations, as well as providing reconciliation between the two for the resolution of complaints;
issue non-binding reports;
formulate proposals to the City Council with solutions to problems and demands;
serve as an information body on the situation of the business network in Puerto Lumbreras;
facilitate information and the relationship between the different entities and people linked to companies and commerce in the Region of Murcia.
This initiative is a continuation of all the activities that are already being promoted from the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras to promote and energize the business fabric of the municipality, such as campaigns with the Chamber of Commerce;
"Showcase contest", "Illusion ride", "Shopping in kings", "Menus that fall in love", "Kitchen masterclass", "Creative tapas course" or "Healthy breakfast for children and adults", among others.
The Municipal Council will be chaired by the mayor;
María Ángeles Tunisia, and will have two vice presidents and a secretary.
In addition, the council will consist of the Councilor for Commerce, the Councilor for Finance, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras and a representative of the Association of Businessmen Aseplu.
Likewise, a representative of the hospitality and catering sector, a representative of the neighborhood associations, a representative of the Sectorial Council of Citizen Security and six representatives of different groups or sectors related to the economy, trade will also be present in this body and the hospitality of the municipality.
It should be noted that the Municipal Council will meet at least four times a year in ordinary sessions by convocation of its president.
In addition, it will meet extraordinarily as many times as deemed appropriate by the president or a quarter of its members.
The Councilor for Commerce, Rocío Martínez, explained that "with this initiative we want to create a discussion forum open to the proposals and concerns of the Lumbrereans linked to the economic, business and commercial sectors. It will be configured as a meeting point in which agreements will be adopted that will influence the decisions and actions of the City Council ".
