Friday, January 31, 2019. Children of 3rd and 4th Primary of CEIP Asunción Jordán with difficulties in reading comprehension will have the opportunity to improve this deficit thanks to the EXILECOM PROJECT (Shared Reader Success), promoted by the Public Education Association 21st century, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education of the University of Murcia and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.
A "shared reading" project that is carried out through volunteers from the University of Murcia and adults who want to contribute, to improve the reading deficit of these children, collaborating in the elimination of educational inequalities.
EXILECOM is based on the model of shared dialogic reading, in which the role of the volunteer is key to accelerate reader learning.
It is simply to meet a boy or girl to help him discover the secrets of reading and break the wall that prevented him from succeeding.
The project will be carried out at the Puerto Lumbreras municipal library, for one hour a week on Saturday mornings, beginning on February 1, until the end of May or beginning of June.
The school is responsible for choosing the children who will participate in the shared reading, with the corresponding authorization of their respective families, and the texts to carry out the shared reading are provided in principle from the EXILECOM project, although they can also use what the library can have.
