The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has agreed with the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla a series of improvements for the municipality after meeting this morning with the president of this body;
Francisca Baraza, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras;
María Ángeles Tunisia and the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Sustainable Development;
César Gázquez.
The actions are aimed at improving the water supply service and solving the numerous historical problems of breakdowns due to the great damage it entails for the population and for the municipality in general.
The works to be carried out will consist in changing the supply route that will allow the removal of the Orfeón Fernández Caballero street pipe that supplies approximately 3,000 residents of the Limoneros neighborhoods, San Juan, the funeral area, El Cortijico, and the rural area from Carretera del Esparragal to the Hermitage of the Purísima Concepción, which has suffered five major breakdowns in less than 2 years, the last being on January 25 and February 18, and causing breakage in the municipal supply network and in consequently the prolonged cut of the water supply in the affected areas.
The green light has also been given to the repair of the new drinking water supply tank located in the Barranco de los Pinos, as well as improvements to the water reservoir of the Goñar district and the Nogalte Castle water tank.
In addition, other issues have been discussed, such as the request that Mercantil Caudal has made to the City Council to improve its supply, the treatment of the access road surface to the new Puerto Adentro deposit and that of asphalt surfaces when breakages occur in the networks and affect vials.
