The municipality is one of the pioneers in the Region of Murcia to implement this type of work
The Puerto Lumbreras City Council, within the measures adopted due to the health crisis we are experiencing due to the coronavirus, has agreed to offer its workers the possibility of availing themselves of the teleworking modality starting next Monday, the 16th and until 30 March, if they meet a series of requirements.
The objective of this action is to facilitate the reconciliation of family and work life due to the suspension of classes in educational centers, as well as to prevent possible contagion, especially in employees who are part of risk groups or suffer from chronic diseases.
The Puerto Lumbreras City Council is one of the pioneer municipalities in the Region of Murcia to implement this type of work for its employees, and an example in relation to the possibilities and advantages of telework and how to take advantage of them for other organizations and Spanish companies, being at the forefront of local administration.
This system, among other benefits for workers, has the reconciliation of personal and work life, less stress, greater flexibility of schedules, lower costs, modernization of the Administration, greater productivity, reduction of absenteeism from work, improvement of objectives, increase in motivation and respect for the environment.
Last December, the local council received the award for equality in Administration for this project, within the V Awards for Innovation and Good Practices and the Award for Equality in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
