The Puerto Lumbreras City Council continues to guarantee the coverage of basic food needs in particularly vulnerable families, giving priority to those with minors in their care.
In the last 15 days, and due to the State of Alarm situation due to the health alert before COVID-19, food and personal hygiene and cleaning products have been provided to more than 200 families in the municipality in a situation of special vulnerability through from the Red Cross and Caritas food bank.
In addition to food and the aforementioned basic products, from today fruits and vegetables have been incorporated thanks to the altruistic collaboration of Plantiagro and the Sacoje agricultural cooperative, as well as the Irrigation Community of Puerto Lumbreras.
On the other hand, in relation to the school canteen scholarships, since the State of Alarm was decreed, an economic aid has been transferred to 38 students who have this scholarship recognized, by bank transfer.
Non-beneficiary families with minor dependents and difficulties in basic coverage and who are users of Social Services are also provided with financial support.
In addition, 52 social aids have been granted to families and people in need.
