The solidarity campaign to collect funds for the purchase of sanitary materials and food jointly organized by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Puerto Lumbreras (Aseplu), the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, and the Department of Commerce of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, It has managed to raise 10,000 euros in just 10 days since its launch.
An initiative that also has the collaboration of Cáritas and the Red Cross.
This Monday the mayor, María Ángeles Túnez, the councilor for Commerce;
Rocío Martínez, and the technician of the Department;
Encarna Franco, held a meeting with Aseplu representatives to establish the distribution of the funds raised, as well as to analyze possible actions and a Business and Business Revitalization Plan for its implementation after the economic consequences of the pandemic by COVID-19.
Of the 10,000 euros raised, 3,100 euros have been contributed by the Juan Antonio López Alcaraz School, and will go to buy food in the establishments of Puerto Lumbreras for the neediest families, and these products will be distributed through the municipality's Social Services .
The remaining 6,900 euros have been contributed by individuals and companies in the town, and will be invested in the acquisition of medical supplies to help prevent and fight COVID-19 at the Puerto Lumbreras health center and the Rafael Méndez Hospital.
It should be noted that both Aseplu, as the Chamber of Commerce and the City Council have made a continuous dissemination of this solidarity campaign by all their means, and even videos have been produced to call for the solidarity of citizens, with the collaboration of illustrious Lumbrerenses such as the Real Murcia footballer;
