| The Economic Reactivation Plan of the municipality contemplates various economic, fiscal and support measures for the hospitality sector to cope with the consequences of the state of alarm by COVID- 19 | The Puerto Lumbreras City Council has facilitated the expansion and occupation of public spaces to all establishments in the municipality that have requested it, at no additional cost, in order to contribute to the economic and employment recovery of the hospitality sector.
In this way, the circumstances of each establishment have been individually analyzed, adapting the necessary conditions to comply with the safety regulations in force as a result of the health crisis caused by COVID-19 and without harming third parties. Urban Planning, Commerce and Local Police Technicians have studied all the requests received to guarantee the hoteliers have the greatest number of tables and chairs while maintaining social distancing and safety measures on public roads.
"We want to provide facilities for hoteliers to reactivate their business at the highest possible rate," said the Councilor for Commerce; Rocío Martínez.
This also includes the exemption from the payment of the tax for occupation of public roads throughout the year 2020.
"The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras is making a great effort to benefit the hospitality sector, one of the most affected by the declaration of the state of alarm and forced closure for two months, "says Martínez. In addition, the municipality's Economic Reactivation Plan against COVID-19 includes several measures to support the sector, such as the exemption of a full quarter of water and garbage receipts, rental aid and granting bonuses in the Property Tax Real Estate (IBI) for those businesses forced to close during the Alarm State.
On the part of the City Council, these establishments are exempt from the fixed supply fee, the sanitation fee and the collection of solid waste. Another strategy for the economic and social revitalization of the municipality is the Plan for the establishment of a commercial and leisure center in the open air to face the effects of the current health crisis, as established in the de-escalation plan and taking into account the limitations from the health authorities. This initiative tries to turn our municipality during the weekends into an experience for leisure and consumption with cultural activities and the extension of business hours until 22:30, with the possibility of being able to expand its sales spaces by showing its products on the street, among other activities in order to reactivate local purchases and consumption.
