incorrectly | The Puerto Lumbreras City Council has established a special surveillance and monitoring device to guarantee compliance with the new regulations established by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, in Decree-Law 8/2020 of July 16, which requires masks in open or closed public places, even if the safety distance can be maintained, in order to cope with infections by COVID-19. The Local Police is intensifying surveillance and carrying out controls at various points in the municipality, which have resulted in a dozen sanctions filed in recent days.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras; María Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "we have to be aware of the importance of the use of the mask and all the neighbors have to collaborate to prevent new outbreaks from arising," while recalling that they are only exempt from the mandatory use of the mask "those under six years of age, those who suffer from respiratory illness or difficulty, or do not have autonomy to put it on or take it off, outdoor sports, while consuming drinks and food, in swimming pools or beaches, or due to force majeure events or need.
" Tunisia has reiterated to citizens "the responsibility and compliance with the obligation of the mask and to use it correctly", and has appealed "to social commitment as the main tool we have to stop the spread of the virus." Failure to comply with the obligation to use the mask or to use it incorrectly constitutes an infraction that is sanctioned with a fine of 100 euros.
The Puerto Lumbreras Local Police campaign will remain active for the next few weeks, and surveillance will be intensified in places where a greater number of incidents and concentrations of people are taking place.
