Given the proximity of the commemoration of the Islamic festival "Eid al-Adha" or "of the lamb" in which this animal is sacrificed in a ritual that commemorates "the sacrifice of Ibrahim", the VOX councilor for Puerto Lumbreras, Inma García Arcos, has urged the mayor of the town that the City Council adopt the mandatory sanitary measures during this celebration in order to avoid risks to public health or the suffering of the animal, as well as annoying the neighbors.The mayor of VOX reminds the municipal government team that "the slaughter of an animal, in this case the lamb, is prohibited in private homes or common units of buildings, or other public places except authorized slaughterhouses," he said.These sacrifices must be made in establishments with authorized personnel, where strict compliance with current legislation will be ensured and, therefore, García urges the government team to adopt mandatory sanitary measures.
