In total, around 500 palm trees in the municipality, of the Washingtoniana, date and Canary varieties, will be cut down with the aim of improving their aesthetics, removing dry and old leaves together with clusters of fruits to let out the new leaves.
They are distributed throughout the urban nucleus and districts, with a logging duration of around 12 days. On the other hand, palm trees have been fumigated against the red weevil, as well as pine trees against the borer in all areas of the municipality.
A process that is carried out manually with insecticides suitable for this use by direct spraying.
This phytosanitary treatment is carried out continuously throughout the year in the various parks, gardens and green areas of the town in order to avoid any type of plague.
